Welcome to the website of the Center for Rare Earth and Actinides Research (CenTRA). We are a non-profit scientific organization created in 2021 as a French association (Loi 1901) and dedicated to the scientific outreach of what are known as the f-elements. What are f-elements? They are a group of heavy metallic chemical elements that can be found across the planet and that play significant roles in various sectors, with industrial applications including sustainable processes and carbon-free energy production.
Our objective is to bring together a large community of scientists, in France first, but also in Europe and worldwide, in order to tackle ambitious scientific projects, train the younger scientists and inform the general public on the important use of these chemical elements.
